SJC-SNAP Program Description:
The private non-profit corporation (also known as SJC-SNAP) is a charity that will help low income people provide spay/neuter surgery for their pet. The program will also educate pet owners on responsible pet ownership using video and written materials. The charity will raise and expend funds entirely for these purposes. Participating veterinarians in St. Joseph County will provide services to income-qualified clients who have been approved by the organization to receive benefits. The program will reimburse veterinary clinics 100% of the surgery costs. The veterinary clinics can charge additional fees for required services before the spay/neuter such as vaccinations and tests. These additional fees will be paid by the client.
The SJC-SNAP Program does not received any funds from St. Joseph County or the cities of South Bend or Mishawaka. We are entirely funded by donations and community fundraisers.
